Southern California Seafood Restaurant

Ok, so my last post was about one of my favorite restaurants in the mountains of Southern California. As I sat and thought about some of my other adventures/trips to California, another one of my favorites popped into my mind. I can’t leave this one off the list!
Again, traveling to Anaheim for a tradeshow, we were all discussing dinner one night. Everyone in the group wanted to go see the ocean. We looked at some brochures and then spoke with the front desk at our hotel. We said we would like to some seafood, relaxed atmosphere and near the ocean. First restaurant that they recommended was The Crab Cooker. So, we said let’s go try it out!
It was a bit of a drive, but we were all excited to see the ocean, so it didn’t really matter how long the drive was. We arrived and the most difficult part of this drive/trip was finding parking at the Crab Cooker. The one and only complaint I have for this restaurant. We finally found a parking spot and went in.
It was a short wait as we had kind of a large group. Once we sat down, I took in the ambience. Very casual. Reminded me of an old rock and roll diner without the rock and roll. Wooden tables and chairs. Paper cups for the beer. Kinda strange, but I said let’s give it a shot. We were having fun just looking around and seeing some of the decorations and writings. Very cool.

Then we got the menu and started looking it over. Some real good seafood choices. I locked on the lobster tail on a skewer. They grill it! WOW…it was the best lobster tail I have had up to this point. Lobster tail with that grill taste is amazing. All of the smells of the seafood cooking was unbelievable.
We all gave it a 10/10 on the food. Everyone really enjoyed the food. Atmosphere was a 10/10. Casual and entertaining. Parking was a pain, so that was a 7/10. Overall, it was awesome. And, we haven’t even hit the beach yet!
So we walked out of the Crab Cooker and started walking towards the ocean. It was not a long walk at all. Before we knew it we were walking in the sand. It was dark, so we missed the sunset, which I am sure is amazing. Just listening to the waves crashing in was great. Perfect weather, awesome friends and even better location. We walked along the ocean for a bit and came upon a pier that went out pretty far into the ocean. We decided to go to the end, as it looked like there was a bar or restaurant at the end. We got there and it was a bar. We decided to stay and have an evening cocktail. What a way to end the perfect night.

You really can get everything at this Southern California location. If you are in the area of Anaheim, try to get this into your things to do, places to go. The Crab Cooker is in Newport Beach, CA. Look them up. Tell them we sent ya!!
